About us

Merlin Housing Society is the largest social landlord in South Gloucestershire. We own or manage 8,300 homes in the area, employing more than 300 staff to deliver our services.

We were formed in 2007 to manage homes formerly owned by South Gloucestershire Council. Our vision is to be: “A first class provider of affordable housing and related services for communities across South Gloucestershire, with our residents at the heart of all that we do.” As such, we are working closely with our residents to improve their homes, our services and the areas they live in.

With their input, we have changed the way we deliver housing and supported housing services. We have also completed our decent homes improvement works to residents’ homes. We are now bringing all our homes up to the Merlin standard.

Our properties are home to more than 16,000 people. The five minute film below shows just what it means to two of our residents to have an affordable home of their own - the Robinson family from Downend, and Lily Yeo who lives in one of our sheltered housing schemes.
