Guy Reid-Bailey

Resident Board Member
Guy Reid Bailey is a retired worker and has worked for several years in the service industry, mainly in Education welfare and had a distinguished career in Social Work, Youth Work and Community Work.  He has also done voluntary work in the community and has played a major party in raising funds to develop the community focus group and projects such as the Rose Green sports and Leisure Centre and Bristol West Indian Cricket Club. 

Guy is a founder member of United Housing Association which is the largest (BME) Black and Minority Ethnic housing Association in the West of England.  He was Chair of the Housing Association for over ten years and is still an active board member.  Guy has been a School governor for over 25 years and now a councillor at Bristol Metropolitan Academy.  Guy is also a Vice Chair of Avon and Somerset Police independent Advisory Group (IAG) and a member of the South Gloucestershire Advisory Group.  Over the years Guy has served on numerous management committees, he has been awarded the following awards for his services to the communities, he has received Certificate Of the Chief Constable Team Commendation in 2004, Certificate in recognition of “One Person Can Make A difference Award” by Bristol City Council presented by the Lord Mayor in 2006, a Certificate for Achievement Award for services as a School Governor  in 2007, A youth service award for 25 years of services and he was also awarded an OBE (an order of the British Empire) in 2005.
