Improving your neighbourhood

Community fun days - run a stall, learn new skills and entertain your community. Or simply turn up on the day and have a good time.

Residents associations - join your local group and work to improve your housing and neighbourhood.

Estate walkabouts - walk around your local area with staff, point out what you want changing or fixing and agree on actions for improvement.

Community Action Groups - these five groups receive funding from us, and work with other local groups to bring about change.

Residents Making a Difference

The Staple Hill Residents Association now has more than 120 members. Over the past year residents have raised more than £5,000 and organised coach trips, fun days and provide a weekly hot meal at their local community flat, Our Place.

In the words of association member Pat Major: “I’m so proud of what we have achieved. We had a fun day and I had a group of 20-year-olds running a stall next to 80-year olds and when you think that 18 months ago they would never have spoken to each other. It’s incredible.”
