Find a home
We are a medium-sized social landlord, owning or managing 8,300 in the south west. Most of our properties are in South Gloucestershire but we also have homes in Bath and North East Somerset and Bristol. Around 500 of these are leasehold properties, and of the remainder, 1,400 are sheltered accommodation.
Demand for social housing in the region is very high and there are thousands of people on the council's housing register. The demand for housing far outstrips the number of properties available. In 2011-12 we let 735 properties to new residents.
Applying for a Merlin home
We do not hold our own waiting list for housing. The housing register is held by the local authorities which operate choice-based lettings systems.
South Gloucestershire
South Gloucestershire Council, which operates a choice-based lettings system, called HomeChoice. You can sign up to the scheme by filling out an online form on the HomeChoice website. Alternatively you can contact the council's housing department on 01454 868005 and asking them to send you a form. The council has also produced a list of frequently asked questions about using the scheme.
Bath & North East Somerset
Bath & North East Somerset's choice-based lettings system is called HomeSearch, which you can apply for on their website. You can contact the housing department on 01225 396118.
Exchanging your property
We are registered with HomeSwapper, the national network which allows tenants of social landlords to swap homes. If you are a tenant and want to move home, you can register with HomeSwapper and search for a home anywhere in the country. You can also join if you are a tenant with another social landlord and want to move to one of our homes.
