Staff aim to raise £5,000 to support local charity of the year

Over the next 12 months our staff will be raising money to help care for terminally ill people after choosing to support St Peter’s Hospice as our charity of the year for 2018.

Each year our employees donate thousands of pounds to good causes by taking part in sponsored events and fundraising activities. Over the past year we've raised more than £6,500 for charity, with most going towards Macmillan Cancer Support, our charity of the year for 2017.

Now we're beginning to plan our fundraising efforts for the year to help raise as much as possible for the Bristol-based charity.

Head of Human Resources Justine Nicklin said: “We’re delighted to be supporting St Peter’s Hospice and their Room to Care Appeal which aims to raise another £1m by October to fund improvements to the hospice . We know that staff and customers have first-hand experience of the work they do caring and supporting adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families and we’re determined to raise as much as possible for this great cause.

“Over the past year we’ve had staff busking, washing cars and baking to fundraise for charity. Hundreds of staff have got involved in these events or have supported colleagues who were taking part. Our most successful activity was our Tough Mudder team’s fundraising efforts and they’ve bravely signed up to take part in this year’s challenge as we aim to raise £5,000 for the hospice.”
