We are expanding into North Somerset after finalising a deal to buy 21 new homes.
Contracts have been exchanged with national housebuilder Taylor Wimpey for nine houses and 12 flats being built in the second phase of the Paper Mill Gardens development in Portishead, close to the town’s marina. Seventeen homes will be for social rent and four will be sold through our shared ownership programme.
Development Manager James Mcloughlin said: “We’re delighted to have completed this deal which represents the first new homes we’ll have in North Somerset, which is a strategic location for the business. We’re now looking at other development opportunities in the area to complement these homes.
“There’s lots of demand for quality, affordable housing in the area, so we expect these homes to be snapped up fast.”
The deal is the latest in a line of first for us this year, which has seen us sign deals for our first new homes in Stroud and Cotswold District Council authority areas in Gloucestershire, as well as our first new homes in Wiltshire. The homes are due to be completed in phases from early 2019 through to summer 2020.
