The first information roadshows to tell customers about planned works to their home are taking place next week.
Over the next two weeks we’ll be carrying out three roadshows with customers and the neighbours, informing them about the non-traditional housing refurbishment programme. In the latest phase of the ongoing project we’ll be refurbishing 144 homes to improve their energy efficiency by fitting new external wall insulation.
This year’s programme includes improvements to homes in Thornbury, Alveston, Tytherington, Severn Beach, Pilning, Patchway and Filton.
Special Projects Manager Mark Sherwood said: “We’re committed to maintaining our homes to a high standard. This project is delivering real improvements to the quality of the homes and the to the lives of the people who live in them, who are seeing a fall in their energy bills as a result of the insulation making the homes warmer.
“We’re looking forward to this opportunity to explain to customers in greater detail about the work and to answer any questions they may have. They’ll also be able to meet staff from our contractors Keepmoat who’ll be carrying out the work.”
The consultations take place on:
Wednesday 23 August, 11:30am – 12:30pm at Severn Beach Village Hall
Wednesday 23 August, 3pm – 4pm at Coniston Community Centre, Patchway
Tuesday 29 August , 4pm – 6pm at Turnberrie’s Community Centre, Thornbury.
To date we’ve fitted new insulation to more than 500 homes in South Gloucestershire, making them warmer and cheaper to heat. All of the homes in the programme were built in the period after the Second World War as a quick solution to the housing crisis.
