Staff at Merlin Housing Society are celebrating after scooping a bronze award after being inspected during the Olympics.
The Chipping Sodbury-based housing association has received the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) bronze award in recognition of its commitment to developing its staff.
Forty staff were interviewed during the week-long visit, and Inspector Ian Fuller said he was amazed at the company’s progress over the last three years. The award puts Merlin just outside the top 10% of all IIP accredited companies in the UK.
HR Manager Mark Harrison said: “We’re delighted to receive this award which shows our commitment to developing our staff. Having won the initial Investors in People accreditation in 2009 we decided to go for a more testing standard this year.
“We’ve worked hard to ensure everyone is working together to achieve our vision of: quality homes, excellent services and strong communities, with customers at the heart of all that we do.
“We’re a growing business with more than 400 staff and want to be recognised as a good employer, with a committed and dedicated workforce. However we are not a company that is content to stand still. We are going to continue our progress and build on the improvements from the last few years to achieve silver or gold next time.”
