Daring dozen raise £2,500

A daring dozen raised an amazing £2,500 for St Peter's Hospice at the weekend in a charity abseil down one of Bristol's tallest buildings.

The team, made up of past and present staff from Merlin Housing Society, found their feet on solid ground after scaling down the 185ft tall Premier Inn in the centre of Bristol. After donning the appropriate equipment including gloves, hard hats and harnesses, the team were taken through how to abseil down the building safely.

Team organiser, Merlin’s Learning and Development Advisor, Heather Stockwell said: “It was so good to see people coming together from across the business to do something quite mad on a Sunday morning.
“It was a great feeling to get to the bottom and see so many friendly faces cheering us on. Their support certainly helped encourage us to clamber over the wall at the top and dangle ourselves off.”

The team was made up of Heather Stockwell, Kelly Ortu, Claire Morris, Nas Manjothi, Helen Tolladay, Tania Davies, Ritch Berry, Ricky Gray, Derek Hart, Shanthie Wild, Alex Hudson and Keith Hawker.
