First shared ownership homes in the Cotswolds go on sale

Our first shared ownership homes in the Cotswolds have gone on sale this morning.

We offering three two bedroom homes to buy for shared ownership in Tetbury with prices starting at £102,000 for a minimum 40% share. The town has a rich variety of local shops including a cheesemongers, the Highgrove Shop selling products from Prince Charles’ estates and several antique shops.

Sales & Home Ownership Officer Sami Dore said: “We’re delighted to offer our first homes available to buy through shared ownership in the Cotswolds. These are the first of 27 shared ownership homes that we’ll be selling at Highfields on the outskirts of Tetbury.

“Research from the National Housing Federation has revealed that house prices in the Cotswolds now average £382,000 and are more than 13 times people’s average annual  earnings. With prices for these homes starting at £102,000 we’re confident there’ll be lots of interest in these homes.“

In total we’re building 52 homes at Highfields in partnership with Miller Homes; all of the other homes will be available to rent. At the same time we’re building 16 new homes at Bath Road in Tetbury with Hills Homes, which will also include five shared ownership homes which will be available in autumn 2018. The homes form part of our expanding development programme which aims to build 500 homes by March 2019.

The homes are being offered at the start of Shared Ownership Week which aims to raise the profile of shared ownership as an alternative to renting or buying a home outright.
