From twirling across the dance floor, to baking cakes to pounding the streets of Bristol, we have raised more than £2,300 for Brandon Trust over the past year.
Since August last year we have been raising money for the Brandon Trust, the Bristol-based charity that provides services for people with learning difficulties. The charity was chosen by residents at last year’s fun day, which kicked off a year-long range of activities. The most successful event was the Bristol half marathon, where seven staff raised £500 for the charity by completing the 13 mile course.
Then, earlier this year, we were asked to suggest charities we wanted to support and we asked our customers to pick their favourite at our fun day. It was a close call but the winner was Muscular Dystrophy UK, with Cots for Tots coming second, and St Peter’s Hospice and Macmillan joint third.
Muscular Dystrophy UK provides support to more than 70,000 children and adults who suffer from muscle-weakening and wasting conditions. You can find out more at http://www.musculardystrophyuk.org/
We’ve already raised £38.50 at the fun day from ticket sales. The charity will benefit from any fund raising activity we do as an organisation, or from any charity events that we financially support our staff to take part in.
